WOCAN Job Announcement:
The Network of Women Ministers and Leaders in Agriculture is facilitated by WOCAN - a women-led international membership network of women and men professionals experienced in sustainable agriculture and natural resource management committed to building the leadership capacities of poor rural women for agricultural development and natural resource management in ways that improve their livelihoods.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide support to the Steering Committee and its efforts to help guide the Secretariat and members of the Network, particularly in pre-planning and development of materials and action proposals for consideration by the Network members.
2. Prepare a scoping paper on the various governance structure options for the Network
3. Facilitate and support the planning and convening of meetings and events
4. Prepare, publish and disseminate policy briefs to inform the Network members
5. Provide technical follow-up to participating members between meetings through facilitation of listserv discussions, promote information exchange, networking and dialogue
6. Develop a media strategy, including website development and maintenance, media message development, press kit.
7. Develop and implement communications activities including video and teleconference calls, for Network members
8. Prepare and disseminate reports of events and the Project, in accordance with donor requirements
9. Prepare proposals for funding for Network related and other WOCAN projects
10. Conduct administrative tasks as needed
11. Other responsibilities as needed.Master's Degree preferred in agriculture, gender/women's studies, or development studies
Position location: WOCAN office in Washington, DC (Please note that this position is based in Washington, DC, USA for persons who hold US citizenship or a green card)
